Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center in Augusta

(AUGUSTA) – Augusta Mayor Hardie Davis, Jr. today joined the community in excitement about the announcement of the launch of a new Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center in Augusta and released the following statement.

“The announcement of the collaboration between the Georgia Technology Authority, Augusta University and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Cyber Crime Unit to create a hub for education, training and operating in cyber security and defense in Downtown Augusta is a great step toward fulfilling our vision for Augusta as the Cyber Capital of the South.

We are excited about the state’s commitment to invest in our city and lead in the successful development of the cyber technology, research and innovation economy for the South.  This will create new career opportunities for Augustans, spur private sector investment and engagement in our community and build the bridge for Augusta with the rest of the world.  It’s an exciting announcement and we look forward to working with Governor Deal, President Keel and our partners in state government to help make it happen.”
